放棄作為人權(quán)派律師之路，在大型律師事務(wù)所為大企業(yè)工作的律師長谷部恭介（唐澤壽明 飾）。出于維護(hù)大所體面的方針，他以國選辯護(hù)人的身份，接手了一起資產(chǎn)家殺人案中被告家政婦的辯護(hù)工作。然而，被告家政婦主張自己無罪，稱“我沒有殺人，只是在對方試圖自殺時(shí)想要救她”。 作為檢方證人的，是案件唯一的目擊者——住在對面的少女小池希美（當(dāng)真亞美 飾）。長谷部得知希美患有自閉譜系障礙。通過不斷前去拜訪，他逐漸與她拉近距離、建立信任，但在法庭上，卻不得不以證人與辯護(hù)人的身份與她正面相對……
